For all students interested in combining radiology and orthopaedics with state-of-the-art technology, SOMS has put together another visionary workshop that provides you with a tailored hands-on experience.
We’ve come a long way in 50 years in the medical field – technology has turned our lives around and has allowed the world to develop faster than ever. We are now in charge of how much further can we go with this amount of knowledge and we owe it to ourselves to do the best we can.
As future doctors in the era of technology, keeping up with new techniques and discoveries is essential for us and for our patients. 3D technology, even in its infancy, already proves useful in a multitude of medical fields and has the potential to become omnipresent in hospitals. 3D printing is useful in reproducing or planning surgery ahead of the time, is used in helping medical students discover and analyse anatomy and to reproduce tissue and organs.
In this workshop, you will discuss clinical cases based on CT images with experts in the field and you will learn how to design and print patient-specific implants and how to analyse surgical procedures personalised on patients’ anatomy.
